High-Cadence Seasons

The exoplanet census, via microlensing

What this is

Six seasons of 70.5 days each. This relentless revisit rate is what makes microlensing detections possible, and it produces light curves for enormous numbers of stars as a by-product.

Six fields toward the Galactic centre, imaged every twelve minutes for weeks at a time. Microlensing events are brief and unrepeatable — the cadence is the experiment.
